Irish Soda Bread
A moist but heavy bread. Great toasted!
- 3 3/4 cups freshly milled flour *
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1-2 Tbs. honey
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
Mix well and knead slightly. Shape into a round about 1-1 1/2" thick. Slash X across top.
Bake on greased cookie sheet or pie pan at 375F until done (about 45 minutes).
* Red or white wheat flour will work
